What is a HydraFacial?
HydraFacial uses patented technology to cleanse, extract, and hydrate skin while infusing highly-effective serums tailored to your specific skin needs. The HydraFacial is a great treatment for congested skin using advanced, patented technology to deeply cleanse and exfoliate the skin, removing all dead skin cells. Next, a serum specific to acne and congestion delivers nutrients packed with anti-inflammatories, including salicylic acid and honey extract.
It all sounded very promising, PDQ went to investigate with the help of Hilton Skin Clinics. I was met by Marcella in reception who went through all the medical forms with me before being escorted upstairs to meet with Suzanne White – Senior Aesthetic Practitioner.

The appointment began with a Visia Skin Analysis which is used to assess your skin health and measures eight key skin criteria: Spots, Pores, Wrinkles, Texture, Porphyrins, UV Spots, Brown Spots and Red Areas.
My skin was in much better condition than expected and Suzanne talked me through the different criteria, and my scores across each, to help me better understand my skin and what treatments would suit me best. We also ‘aged’ my skin – which is eerily similar to the FaceApp filter – and my skin is entirely age-appropriate! Happy days!
We then moved into the treatment room where Suzanne talked me through the treatment and what to expect. She advised that my skin might be a bit red immediately after the treatment but it would not be painful or uncomfortable.
And then we set to work!

How does it work?
The HydraFacial Core Treatment consists of a three-stage process taking around 30 minutes; it detoxifies the skin, removes dead skin cells, extracts any debris and provides long lasting hydration and essential nutrient support to protect and rebuilds collagen levels. HydraFacial uses advanced, patented vortex technology to deeply cleanse the skin and effectively deliver botanical ingredients containing nutrients such as hyaluronic acid, horse chestnut seed extract, red algae extract, copper, zinc and magnesium peptides to where they do the most good. In addition, HydraFacial also delivers powerful antioxidants to counteract damage by free radicals – from pollution, sun and stress – which can degrade the skin and accelerate the ageing process.
Rather than aggravating the skin like traditional dermabrasion, the treatment involves hydradermabrasion which is a far gentler, but no less effective, way to vacuum out pores. This also helps the HydraFacial to deliver consistent results, unlike traditional facials where the outcome can sometimes vary.
Results…
lovely Suzanne and the results of her hard work! Cannot believe the results…
After thoroughly hydrated the skin, we finished off the treatment with SPF. The skin is particularly vulnerable after this type of treatment and we opted for Heliocare Gel SPF with a hint of colour.
Who is it good for?
HydraFacial is suitable for all ages, complexions and concerns. It is ideal for those of you who aren’t quite ready for injectables but who want to see real anti-ageing results: Fine lines and wrinkles are instantly reduced thanks to use of hyaluronic acid and red LED light in the final stage to stimulate collagen and elastin production. It’s also great for brides-to-be who want to look glowing on their big day and can be used right up to the big day. It’s also great for people who have acne-prone or conjested skin, which is also sensitive – like me! As well as those with scarring and signs of damage after skin has been re-balanced.
Conclusion: Tried & Tested & Loved by PDQ!
I am so pleased with the results; as you can see, my face is not red or irritated as it would be after a microdermabrasion, my skin doesn’t feel tight or sore and there is no downtime. My skin IS hydrated, soothed, CLEAN! and my pores are practically invisible! Speaking with other HydraFacial clients, it’s clear that this is a great treatment for anyone and everyone who is looking for clear, hydrated and plumped skin; regardless of whether your skin concern is redness, acne, scarring, sun damage, signs of ageing or fine lines, the HydraFacial is a great solution to improve the overall appearance of skin and skin health – no wonder it’s so popular with celebrities and skin care experts alike!
